I have been involved in metabolic disorders and sickle cell disease (SCD) research for the last twenty years and made some therapeutic findings on the pharmacological importance of medicinal plants and nutraceuticals. My niche/research fields of interest include: Biochemical pharmacology, phytochemical and nutraceutical treatment options for metabolic disorders and some tropical diseases, viz: sickle cell anaemia, malaria, hypertension, obesity, diabetes and inflammation. Research collaborations are presently ongoing in various fields, including pharmaceutical chemistry (studies on drug dynamics), genetic research on G6PD- deficient SCD individuals and Pharmacological, Toxicological, Proteomic studies on phytomedicines.
