My research work spans across parasitic diseases with focus on malaria epidemiology and diagnosis, <em><i>Plasmodium falciparum<\/i><\/em>&nbsp;genetic diversity and antimalarial drug resistance. His work has highlighted focal nature of malaria transmission with some areas of Lagos being designated malaria hotspots. He has carried out studies that demonstrated the effectiveness of intermittent preventive treatment in pregnancy using sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I am a member of the national antimalarial therapeutic efficacy monitoring group that monitors the efficacy of antimalarial drugs in Nigeria. I have been involved in different malaria interventions across Nigeria such as seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) and Intermittent Preventive Treatment of Malaria in Schoolchildren.
