Our Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) professional programme in the Faculty of Basic Medical Science, College of Medicine of the University of Lagos is designed to produce Medical Laboratory Scientists of high repute despite scarce resources in the country, especially in the South West of Nigeria. etc makes them a rare and highly marketable products in the health market today.

About the Department of Medical Laboratory Science
The World Health Organization gave a directive in 1984 that all Health Professionals should have a degree as their basic qualification by the year 2000 and advised all Teaching Hospitals running Diploma Programmes to evolve by instituting the degree programme in their degree awarding sister institutions. Consequently, The Medical Laboratory Science was created as a unit under the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology in the year 2009, at the Faculty of Basic Medical, College of Medicine of the University
