Personal Statement

I am an early career biomedical researcher with interest in molecular oncology, haemato-oncology, immuno-hematology, application of microfluidic technology in the design of diagnostic devices and implementation of liquid biopsy in personalized medicine. I am enthusiastic about the design, development and validation of low-cost biocompatible microfluidic devices for the isolation of tumour derived particles or cells present in the blood. I am also keen to explore how these tumour derived elements present in blood can be used to detect clinically actionable mutations and driver mutations that initiate metastasis. Furthermore, part of my research focuses on evaluating the interactions of blood group antigens with antibodies and their roles in susceptibility and resistance to diseases. My ultimate goal is to translate my research into improving clinical outcomes using multidisciplinary approaches.
